Playoffs will be starting shortly and schedules will be posted as they have been for the regular season. All teams will make the playoffs. If you win your first game of the playoffs you will be playing the following week, if you lose you have finished your season. Winning teams please make sure to enter your scores ASAP so that I can set up the games for the next week of week of playoffs. During the final week you will be playing 2 matches, one early and one late. Winners of the early matches will play each other to determine 1st and 2nd, and the losers of the early matches will play to determine 3rd and 4th. In Divisions 2 - 6 the playoffs will last 2 weeks and in division 1 the playoffs will last 3 weeks.
Just a quick note about net height. Net height should be set around the mens height level.
The new net rule will be used this year. Click on the link below in order to view a video on the application of this rule.

So there is no confusion, you must complete the following two things in order for your team to be registered for the season.
- you must register your team online
- go to the My Locker button and follow the instructions (you might need to register yourself if you do not have an account)
- you must pay your teams fees
If you do not complete both of these tasks then your team is not registered. Once these are completed I will activate your team in the division that you registered for.
NEW PAYMENT METHOD: This year is the first year that you can now use an interact etransfer in order to pay for your teams registration fee.
The cost is $600.00 per team and only cash, certified cheques, or money orders are used for payment. (NO personal cheques)
Good luck to all and have fun!!!!

As some of you may or may not know there was a new net rule put into effect by FIVA. This new net rule is stated below.
CONTACT WITH THE NET
Contact with the net by a player is not a fault, unless it interferes with the play.
Players may touch the post, ropes, or any other object outside the antennae, including the net itself, provided that it does not interfere with play.
When the ball is driven into the net, causing it to touch an opponent, no fault is committed.
PLAYER'S FAULTS AT THE NET
A player touches the ball or an opponent in the opponent's space before or during the opponent’s attack hit.
A player interferes with the opponent's play while penetrating into the opponent’s space under the net.
A player’s foot (feet) penetrates completely into the opponent's court.
A player interferes with the opponent’s play by (amongst others):
- touching the top band of the net or the top 80 cm of the antenna during his/her action of playing the ball, or
- taking support from the net simultaneously with playing the ball, or
- creating an advantage over the opponent, or
- making actions which hinder an opponent’s legitimate attempt to play the ball
Make sure to put all nets away after the final game for that evening.
